Monday morning, May 9, the
tiny planet Mercury will
drift in front of the sun's
face—an event that occurs
only about 13 times every
century.
Join us that morning to get an up-close
view of our sun, and to
watch and learn about this rare transit of
Mercury. We'll be using the 14-inch
telescope and a safe
white-light solar
filter to enjoy the show;
and, of
course, we'll take a peek at
a few other celestial bodies
as well...
yes, even in the daytime!
The transit begins before
sunrise and reaches its
mid-point at 7:58 a.m. PDT.
